I. Inspiration Source: An Encounter Between Nature and Classic Taste

The design inspiration for the rattan petal chandelier stems from a simple yet powerful observation: in today's fast-paced, technologically advanced world, people increasingly crave "connection"—connection with nature, embrace of craftsmanship, and coexistence with spaces imbued with heart.

The design team's initial inspiration came from the organic elegance of tropical plants. Imagine the graceful curves of a lotus flower, or the delicate movement of palm leaves brushing against the sky—these naturally flowing forms became the core of the lighting aesthetic. We hoped to capture this "natural elegance," creating a lamp that is both rooted in nature and perfectly suited to modern homes.

Another key inspiration came from the revival of rattan as a design material. The warm texture of rattan has stood the test of time—for decades, it has been a staple in Bohemian, Scandinavian, and seaside interior designs—and when combined with modern silhouettes, it exudes a fresh vitality. We are committed to preserving the craftsmanship of rattan while breaking free from stereotypes: abandoning bulky, overly retro designs, we've instead conceived delicate "petal" shapes that allow light to gently penetrate, casting soft and captivating shadows.

Finally, we always prioritize functionality. A pendant light shouldn't just be aesthetically pleasing; it should also enhance the texture of a space. Whether hanging above the dining table to create a festive atmosphere, placed in a cozy reading nook, or serving as a visual focal point in the entryway, it must find a balance between form and function: emitting warm ambient light while also serving as a striking accent that complements the overall décor.

II. From Sketch to 3D Model: Turning Inspiration into Precise Design

Once the inspiration was finalized, the design process moved from paper to pixels—every detail was meticulously refined to perfectly capture the initial design vision.

Sketching: Iterating Through Curves and Balance

The first step involved dozens of hand-drawn sketches. The designers focused on two core elements: the shape of the "petals" and the proportional balance between the vines and the metal. We tested different numbers of petals (from 6 to 10) and varying degrees of curvature—too sharp would appear harsh, while too loose would lack structure. The final design featured 8 slightly curved petals, each with a slightly narrower edge, mimicking the natural unfolding of a flower.

The metal frame design was also continuously optimized in the sketches: we used slender matte metal rings (available in black, brass, and white) to secure the vines and petals. The frame needed to be strong enough to support the vines and the main body of the lamp, yet delicate enough not to overshadow the petals. Simultaneously, we designed the suspension system: a simple, adjustable metal line allowing users to customize the height to suit different ceiling heights and space sizes.

3D Modeling: Refining Form, Light, and Function

Starting from sketches, we used CAD software for 3D modeling—a crucial step in verifying the design's feasibility and accuracy.

Form and Fit: Using the 3D model, we refined the curvature of each vine petal, ensuring they seamlessly integrate into the metal frame without noticeable gaps. We adjusted the angle of each petal to 15 degrees outward, maximizing light diffusion while preserving the "blooming" aesthetic.

Light Simulation: We conducted light penetration tests. The natural texture of the vine creates subtle variations in light and shadow, ensuring warm, soft, and non-glaring light. The position of the metal frame was adjusted to avoid blocking light, serving only as a subtle border to accentuate the beauty of the vine petals.

At the end of the 3D modeling phase, the design is no longer an abstract inspiration but a precise, implementable functional blueprint, ready for mass production.
